Clayton PTA - General PTA Information

WHAT IS THE PTA?
"PTA" stands for Parent-Teacher Association, a non-profit organization made up of parents and teachers that exists on the school, local, state and national levels. The purpose of PTA is to partner educators and families together with the unified goal of raising socially and academically strong students. PTA is an arena to discuss school and student needs and then set out together with staff how to address those needs. A PTA's success is based on the strength and dedication of its volunteers and members.

WHAT IS THE CLAYTON PTA WORKING ON NOW?
During our organizational general meeting in September 2006, we asked parents what they would like to see the PTA fund and what concerns they had. Generally, the responses listed landscaping - including bike racks, picnic tables, wider sidewalks, and a path from LaCrosse to the front of the school; books for the library; classroom supplies for teachers; and field trips for the students. The PTA will have several fundraising events during the year to help fund these requests. Click on Fundraising to find out more details.

HOW DO I JOIN THE CLAYTON PTA?

WHAT IS THE CAMPUS ADVISORY COUNCIL (CAC)?
The Campus Advisory Council (CAC) is made up of members including the principal and representatives from the following groups: administrative staff, teachers, community and business members and parents. Texas state law requires every school to have a campus advisory council in place. Their functions include assisting with a campus educational plan, a campus improvement plan, a campus staff development plan, campus level waiver requests, and a campus budget.
